The final score from Saturday's game against Arizona State University was 47-42 in favor of ASU. The final score from the Thursday game against the University of Arizona was 90-51 in favor of Arizona.  

The Cougar women started the Arizona State game with a layup in the first minute made by sophomore guard and forward Sage Romberg. Three minutes later the Sun Devils responded with a jumper to tie.

The Arizona State jumper started a 20-4 run against the Cougars that lasted until four minutes remained in the first half. The run was finally stopped with a three point shot made by sophomore guard and forward Brandi Thomas and a free throw made by senior guard Rosetta Adzasu.  

The three-pointer and free throw gave the Cougars what they needed, igniting an 8-2 run. When the two teams headed for the locker room, the scoreboard showed a 22-14 lead for ASU.  

Coming out of the half, Romberg again struck first for the Cougars as she made a jumper. 

The Sun Devils came back at 17:31 with a layup that started a two-minute 6-0 run. WSU kept its cool and responded with a layup made by senior guard Jazmine Perkins.  

The layup did not phase Arizona State as they went on a 9-2 run that lasted until the Cougars made two free throws and a three point shot made by Adzasu. At 8:10 remaining in the game, Arizona State had a lead of 14, 39-25. 

The Sun Devils took back the ball and scored four points, but WSU continued to fight back.  

Going to the free throw line at 6:05, the Cougars gained some much needed momentum and ignited a 17-1 run against Arizona State. At the end of the WSU run, only 11 seconds remained and the point gap closed to just three points separating the two teams.  

The Sun Devils sealed their victory by going to the line and scoring free throw points in the final seconds.  

Against the University of Arizona, WSU had an overall shooting percentage of 26.6. The Wildcats had an overall shooting percentage of 53.1.  

Arizona's 52.4 percent three-point shot average played a major role in the team’s victory. WSU’s three-point average was just 15.4 percent for the game. 

The Wildcats had a 14-5 run in the fist half that allowed them to gain a double-digit lead against the Cougars.  

The teams went into the locker room with the scoreboard showing 46-31 in favor of Arizona.  

Coming out of the half, WSU made an attempt to close the point gap with Thomas making a layup and two free throws. However, Arizona countered with five straight points to maintain its double-digit lead.  

Arizona kept a double-digit point gap for the remainder of the game.  

The Wildcat game marked Perkins 115th career game, tying her for the most in WSU history.  

The Cougar women will head to the westside of the state next to face off against the purple and gold University of Washington Huskies. Tip-off is set for noon Sunday in Seattle.
