WSU Police are searching for two suspects who tried to break into the Transportation Services building Oct. 12.

Officer Jeff Olmstead with the WSU Police Department said the suspects, two adult white males, entered the alleyway between Valhalla Bar and Grill and the transportation building just off Colorado Street.

“They first came at about 6:50 p.m. and were interrupted by a WSU Parking Services employee,” he said. “This was a busy time, people everywhere, but they came back again at about 7:10 p.m. That is when they started working on the door.”

Olmstead said the suspects tried to break open the door with what looked like a pry bar. They were not successful, but caused $500 in damage when breaking the door and lock.

From the surveillance video of the alleyway, Olmstead described one man as wearing a light colored baseball cap, dark pants, a dark shirt with a vest, and a backpack. The second man has a hooded jacket with camouflage sleeves and a backpack. Olmstead said they appear to be in their early 20s and are between 5-foot-11 and 6-foot.

Police do not have any suspects at this point.

“We could use any (tips) that the community is willing to give us on this one,” Olmstead said.
