Greek women showcase athleticism

FROM STAFF REPORTS

Women of the Greek student body are highlighting their community involvement this month with a new challenge titled #IAmActive for the Panhellenic Council’s I Am Panhellenic campaign.

The council wants to feature members who are physically active, whether they are university athletes or participate in intramurals, vice president of public relations Cori Uddenberg said.

Through this challenge, community members will be encouraged to support these women, as well as support sporting events that don’t get enough attention during the spring semester.

“We chose ‘I Am Active’ for this month because we felt athletics and activities are a facet of university life that, outside of football, is often taken for granted or ignored,” she said.

Plans being made by the council for the challenge that are still to be determined include forming a team for the Palouse 100K that benefits Pullman Regional Hospital and taking a group of people to a baseball game.

Until April 30, pictures and captions of women noticed for their challenge-related achievements will be featured on the council’s Twitter and Instagram pages.
