Students have expressed interest in having more big-name franchises like Chipotle around the area. Results from the Student Choice Awards show that Target, Red Robin and Chipotle are the most desired businesses to be brought to Pullman.

Samantha Trulson, a freshman kinesiology sports medicine major, said she is constantly craving a burrito bowl with white rice, black beans, steak, hot and mild salsa, sour cream, guacamole and lettuce from her beloved restaurant, Chipotle.

“Everyone adores what (Chipotle) has to offer. Plus, they would get so much business if they brought one here,” Trulson said.

Hattie Stendera, a freshman business management major, added that the desired establishment should be open 24 hours a day.

And when it comes to Red Robin, a car is a necessity. The closest mozzarella sticks, burgers, shakes and onion ring towers of Red Robin lie 75.5 miles away, which is 75.5 miles too far for many.

“They have these burgers that are wrapped with the crispiest lettuce. I’m gluten intolerant, so it’s great to have that. They also have beer shakes,” said Melody Wakeling, a junior accounting major.
