Bringing the party to pullman: best DJ

From staff reports

By day, people know Derek Lombardo as an ordinary student, but at night he transforms into Pullman’s infamous disc jockey SIXFOUR. Measuring at a height of 6 foot 4 inches, senior communication major Lombardo has established a tall standing front in the Palouse DJ world.

His music career started during his senior year of high school when he was the DJ at a fundraising event for Future Business Leaders of America.

“I got curious about producing electronic music and I had been wanting to DJ, so I decided to do both,” Lombardo said.

Students at WSU are familiar with him from his frequent DJ appearances at local parties.

“I’m having just as much fun playing the music as they are dancing to it … I just care about everyone having a good time,” Lombardo said.

DJ SIXFOURhas already had several impressive gigs, including the time he was an opener for Diesel Boy at a Seattle foundation. In the future, DJ SIXFOUR will continue bringing the party wherever he goes.

“I’m moving to Seattle when I graduate and I’ll DJ at the clubs there. Hopefully I’ll take my music production to a new level and start playing shows around the nation,” Lombardo said.
