A fork to the competition: Best place to get lunch

From staff reports

Winner for best Place to get lunch is South Fork Public House, located at 1680 South Grand.

South Fork is only a few years old, opening at the beginning of 2010. South Fork sets itself apart from other restaurants by hosting social events monthly in order to bring the Pullman community together.

The restaurant’s name is homage to the South Fork of the Palouse Water Basin. Owners Wade Dissmore and Jim Harbour both grew up in town and their love of the area is reflected in an attempt at local sourcing whenever possible and creating a friendly and welcoming environment in their restaurant.

Runners up for Best Lunch are Heros N Sports and The Coug. Heros N Sports specializes in sandwiches, soups and salads. With an affordable menu, the sandwich shop is a great place to grab a quick lunch between classes.

The Coug is open until 2 a.m. It’s also a popular place to have lunch in a fun atmosphere for a good price.
