Police Cmdr.: No suspect in Sunday morning weapon discharge

From staff reports

Police are still looking for a suspect after gunshots were fired at a party on Whitman Street early Sunday morning, Pullman Police Cmdr. Chris Tennant said.

Tennant also said the Pullman Police Department is investigating a link between the shooter and a girl who allegedly discharged mace roughly 60 seconds before the gunshots were heard.

At this time, police have not made an arrest and do not have a shooting suspect, nor have they obtained the weapon, Tennant said. He also said the parties involved in the investigation have not been cooperative with the police.

Tennant confirmed the discharged weapon was a pistol, but could not disclose the caliber of the weapon. Police have confirmed that three bullets were fired into the ceiling of the house on Whitman Street around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Pullman PD Public Records Officer Penni Reavis said an officer heard an additional round fired upon arriving at the scene.

Reavis also confirmed that no one was injured during the shooting.

Updates to this story will be added as information becomes available.
