The Washington State Department of Agriculture awarded Pullman Chamber of Commerce a $10,000 COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Grant for the Pullman Farmers Market.
Marie Dymkoski, Pullman Chamber of Commerce executive director, applied for the grant in April. Notice of approval for the grant came from the WSDA during the last week of May, according to a Pullman Chamber of Commerce news release.
The grant provides funding to farmers market organizations, agritourism farms, craft beverage producers and shellfish growers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the release.
In the release, market manager Morgan Sherwood said there are plans to use this grant to increase accessibility and visibility of the market for Pullman residents and add educational and outreach activities.
