Moscow murder suspect’s eluding charges dropped

From staff reports

After nearly three months, the suspect in the Moscow killings on Jan. 10 is headed back to Latah County to face murder charges.

After reevaluating the case yesterday, Whitman County Prosecutor Denis Tracy decided to drop Lee’s charges of eluding in Washington. That afternoon, he was extradited from the Colfax jail to the Moscow jail.

The 29-year-old Moscow resident faces three counts of first degree murder and one count of first degree attempted murder in Idaho after allegedly killing three victims and wounding one, including his adoptive mother.

After shooting at three different locations in Moscow, Lee led Pullman Police on a chase through Colfax and on US Highway 195. He was arrested after crashing at Milepost 47, and has since been in Whitman County Jail.

Lee was set to stand trial for his eluding case in May.

Lee pled not guilty to the eluding charge in January, which kept him in Whitman County.

The hearing for his extradition to Latah County was delayed twice, both times because there was no governor’s extradition warrant on file.

Tracy noted that if Lee is exonerated of his murder charges in Latah County, he will re-file for the eluding case.
