Alcohol-related incidents pick up over long weekend

From staff reports

Pullman police responded to several alcohol-related incidents over the three-day weekend, including an assault.

On Friday, a police officer was flagged down by Justin Sagote, a former WSU linebacker, who claimed he was being followed by another man. Sagote also seemed intoxicated and the officer stayed with the man for a short time and then left.

Later that evening, the same officer had noticed a vehicle near Chinook Apartments pull into the wrong side of traffic. The officer followed, and after noticing a few more traffic infractions, pulled the vehicle over.

The officer noticed it was Sagote from earlier and that he seemed intoxicated. Sagote’s breathalyzer test showed his BAC was twice the legal limit and was arrested for driving under the influence.

That same night, an officer responded to a trespassing near apartments on Morton Street. The officer found Jacqueline White and determined she was intoxicated.

The officer also found that White had committed other crimes, and arrested her for possession of stolen property in the third degree, minor intoxicated in a public place and ID card procured unlawfully.

On Saturday night, officers witnessed a fight in front of Adams Mall along with a crowd of people.

Police officers arrested Jonathan Mooney for fourth degree assault.

A woman also reported she was slapped by someone there. Pullman Police Sergeant Dan Dornes said the case is still under investigation.
