Fall into the season

Lance Lijewski Evergreen columnist

Fall is here: The weather is colder, the sky is darker and outdoor activities are slim.

Never fear, however, as the Palouse is always bustling with fun opportunities to get you out of your dwelling.

Buy local and fresh at the Pullman Farmers Market Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on NE Kamiaken Street. Merchants will sell their food, produce, and other goods each week until teardown on Oct. 23. You don’t want to miss out on any of the seasonal treats offered during this harvest season.

For those looking for a more physical, fun and upbeat activity, check out CJ’s Club in Moscow, just seven miles away. The club offers country swing dancing and East Coast swing dancing opportunities Wednesday and Thursday night, respectively.

Several blocks away, on Main Street in Moscow, Bucer’s Coffeehouse and Pub provides enough fine coffee, spirits, food and live music on the weekends to satisfy any craving you could be having. Bucer’s is the place to be – Whether you want to sip an Americano while listening to smooth jazz, enjoy a beer and burger with some classic rock, or simply study to an independent artist.

A little closer to home, Pullman High School graduates and sports enthusiasts alike can enjoy the weekend revisiting those Friday night lights by supporting young, local athletes that occasionally get lost in the shadow of their college. Pullman High School football games are held at 7 p.m., and their schedule can be found on the high school’s website.

If you’re looking to stay out of the cold and indoors, bowling may be a more attractive option. Located on Bishop Boulevard, Zeppoz provides 24 lanes, each available for individual games and league competitions. On Friday nights, Cosmic Bowling takes over the lanes, using black lights and special effects to make the game more fun for those who wish to take their skills to the next level. An arcade, casino, bar and restaurant are available to explore as well.

For something a little more visual, Village Centre Cinema offers movie fanatics the best entertainment experience around. Village Centre Cinema is the place to go for any new release you’ve been dying to see, featuring eight screens, Dolby Digital 3D, and a party room suitable for any gathering.

To get the best of both worlds, hit up the Haunted Palouse Oct. 18-19 and 25- 26. Full of indoor and outdoor activities, the Haunted Palouse offers food, hay rides, a photo booth and two haunted houses. Children under the age of twelve are not admitted.

No matter how you’re feeling and no matter what you want to do, there’s an activity for every person this fall season.
