Both a group of WSU faculty and the Board of Regents have given their thoughts on President Kirk Schulz's leadership
WSU employees will receive a 2.5-3.25% salary increase effective next fiscal year.
Beginning on July 1, classified staff will get a pay increase of 3.25%. Faculty, graduate assistants and administrative professionals will receive a 2.5% raise on Sept. 1, according to a WSU Insider article.
Funding for the salary increases will come directly through the Washington State Legislature, according to the article. However, university funds will be needed to supplement the state funding.
WSU President Kirk Schulz said the increase is to support staff following the pandemic, especially because burnout rates have been high, according to the article.
WSU also implemented a work-life balance program this semester to address staff burnout, according to a Daily Evergreen article.
