A dumpster fire broke out at roughly 7 p.m. Wednesday night at the Campus Commons South apartments.

WSU student Ali Aonasar was helping his friend, Jacob Alkhatin move out when he saw the fire.

“I just came maybe half an hour ago and saw a little fire,” Aonasar said. “Then later we came back and saw smoke.”

Lt. Andrew Chiavaras said there were no damages to report.

Chiavaras said the first call said the fire was at Campus Common North. When firefighters were on their way to CCN they saw the fire at CCS and responded to it.

“It turned out the one at CCN wasn’t there and somebody just got the wrong address,” he said.

Chiavaras said the cause of the fire is still unknown.
