WSU Police deal with unusual crimes Wednesday

WSU Police responded to a serial vandalizer and underage delinquency Wednesday.
Joe Vandal, University of Idaho’s mascot, was found spray painted on a retaining wall near the intersection of Northeast Wilson Street and East Grimes Way. This marks the third instance in the last two months of Mr. Vandal being graffitied around campus, WSU Police Assistant Chief Steve Hansen said. There are currently no leads or suspects in the case.
A WSU Police officer spotted what appeared to be a minor smoking in a Streit Hall window around 10 p.m. Wednesday night. After obtaining the warrant, the officer discovered six minors consuming alcohol and marijuana in the room. The six were charged with minor in possession of alcohol, with one individual also being charged with minor in possession of marijuana, Hansen said.
