This month’s public events at the Moscow Food Co-op will interest art appreciators, parents or expecting parents, children and book lovers.

Art appreciators can attend a James Miley reception. Miley, a self-taught painter, will have a reception for his photography in the co-op deli gallery.

In his photography, Miley takes inspiration from mountains, trees and colors of the seasons. The opening reception is from 5 – 6:30 p.m. Friday, and the art will be displayed until Oct. 11.

For children and their caregivers, the Co-op Kids will meet from 9 – 10 a.m. every Tuesday in September in the Co-op Cafe for activities. All snacks and materials for these events are donated by the co-op, and there is no participation fee.

For Tuesday’s activities, the children will meet at 9 a.m. in Friendship Square to hang out and play. On Sept. 19, they will learn “Snack Math.” On Sept. 26, the children will taste different types of apples.

Book lovers can join the co-op’s Good Food Book Club for this month’s book meeting.

The club will talk about “The Call of the Farm: An Unexpected Year of Getting Dirty, Home Cooking and Finding Myself” by Rochelle Bilow. This book can be found at BookPeople of Moscow, and book club owners can get the book for a discounted price.

The club will meet from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Moscow Food Co-op.
