In only his second career meet, Louie Hinchliffe achieved a freshman record in the 60-meter dash and is now seventh in program history for the 60 dash.

The WSU Open and Multi in Spokane held Thursday through Saturday showcased the talents of both men and women on the WSU indoor track and field team.

The 60 proved to be very successful for WSU with almost every Coug placing a personal best time in the event. Skyler Walton achieved second place in the 60 as well as a program record and Maribel Caicedo continued her winning streak by coming in first for now her third meet straight.

Micaela De Mello also took third place, extending her winning streak.

Ronald Grueso Mosquera is now also seventh all-time for WSU and 31st in the country for shot put after throwing a new personal best distance.

Nana Gyedu placed with a podium finish in shot put and a season-best distance (15.30m).

The 400-meter highlighted the Coug indoor track and field team as well, with Jasneet Nijjar (54.67) placing second and achieving a season-best time and Elena Willems taking third place and a personal-best time (55.66).

The WSU indoor track and field team continues to dominate in both placing and achieving personal bests in every meet and will be split up this Friday and Saturday to compete in the Don Kirby Elite, the Husky Classic and the Whitworth Open. These events will be held at the Albuquerque Convention Center, the Dempsy and the Podium, respectively.
