Pullman, WSU celebrates staff with appreciation week

This week, WSU thanks its employees with various events around campus. Sponsored by the Administrative Professional Advisory Council, events take place through Friday.

Employees can attend optional presentations on professional and social aspects of the workplace throughout the entire week.

According to a WSU news release, employees are rewarded for their efforts with a 20-percent discount at The Bookie for the entire week. Employees can also attend a free University Recreation class at The Chinook and the Student Recreation Center.

Today, there is a Cougar staff social at local businesses from 5 – 7 p.m. around Pullman. This social offers discounts at Porch Light Pizza, Cask, and Birch & Barley. A Cougar Card is required for eligibility on the discount.

Professor Tom Tripp from WSU Vancouver will present on Thursday via video from 12:10 – 12:50 p.m. This presentation will stream in Terrell Library, Room 24 and other Academic Media Services locations. Those interested in watching from afar can register for the viewing through SkillSoft.

A presentation called “Mapping Out Your Professional Development” is happening this Friday. Noel Schulz will lead the presentation from 12 – 1 p.m. in Room 101 of the Food Science and Human Nutrition Building, according to the news release.
