Pullman’s downtown nightlife has expanded for all residents in town, but especially the students at WSU.

Rico’s new weekly event, Music on Main, will be held on the corner of Main Street and Grand Avenue and is open to the public starting tonight, said Tawny Szumlas, owner and operator of Rico’s Public House, a bar in downtown Pullman.

“Most students who attend WSU do not know about what downtown Pullman has to offer, so they often times just drive or walk by some fascinating businesses,” she said.

Businesses students might be missing include bars, clothing stores, diverse restaurants and plenty more to explore downtown, Szumlas said. So, Music on Main was created to help bring more people downtown.

“A wide variety of music will be played during the event, from blues, country, street drums and rock ’n’ roll, depending on the weather,” she said. “So, tell a friend to tell a friend and come out and enjoy yourselves.”

Music on Main will be at 7 p.m. Thursdays near Rico’s.
