Bone announces return of Tim Marrion to WSU men’s basketball staff

Head Basketball Coach Ken Bone ended what was a rollercoaster week for WSU’s basketball coaching staff with one more change on Friday.

Bone announced that Tim Marrion, former WSU men’s basketball coordinator of operations, will arrive back in Pullman in 2013. He will return to the program as the Cougar’s new director of player development.

Marrion spent one year away from the WSU basketball program until a coaching spot became available this week when Rod Jensen was promoted to assistant coach.

“Having Tim return to the staff is great for the program,” Bone said in a press release. “Tim is familiar with the town, the university and the majority of the staff and players, plus he brings an impressive resume for someone his age. We’re excited to have Tim as a Cougar once again.”

Marrion’s familiarity with WSU Basketball’s day-to-day operations will play into the overall success and cohesion of the coaching staff this season.

Marion has a strong background in the operations of the program and has experience working with Bone and the Cougars. In the past, Marrion was in charge of many facets of the program, including, assisting with recruiting visits, overseeing film exchange and supervising the student-manager staff.

“I would like to thank Coach Bone and the athletic administration for this tremendous opportunity,” Marrion said in a press release. “Washington State University and Pullman are very special places and I am thrilled and humbled to be given the opportunity to come back and to continue to do what I love to do.”
