TRUE

Faked or otherwise, men and women experience orgasms in different ways. While women are built to experience multiple orgasms in a single session, men tend to require a little practice.

Women can repeatedly orgasm within a single sexual encounter, but they do not automatically orgasm every sexual encounter. In 2015, just under 40 percent of women reported usually having an orgasm during intercourse, and just 12 percent have experienced multiple orgasms, according to the Socioaffective Neuroscience & Psychology journal.

Studies show that over half of women who experience multiple orgasms often do so with the aid of sex toys or if intercourse lasted more than an hour. Additionally, women who at least desire intercourse every day tend to achieve multiple orgasms, according to the neuroscience journal.

In men, orgasms and ejaculation are two distinct, although closely linked, processes. Typically, men are considered “multi-orgasmic” if they achieve more than one orgasm within the span of 20 minutes, according to Sexual Medicine Reviews. The average man can only ejaculate every 20 minutes, but this can vary.

Through contracting the muscles right before ejaculation, and therefore preventing it, men still orgasm. By delaying that process, reports show that men had multiple orgasms within a few minutes of each other, according to Sexual Medicine Reviews.

In order to control ejaculation, men have to train their pubococcygeus muscle, a thin muscle attached to the pelvis that contracts during orgasm. This normally involves a series of Kegel exercises designed to strengthen the muscles, according to Sexual Medicine Reviews.
