AE TAILGATE Gameday parking

With the 2013 football season underway, Cougar fans are ready for a full game-day experience starting with parking.

The Cougar Athletic Fund and Transportation Services are teaming up to make this year’s season enjoyable starting with stress-free parking.

Director of Transportation Services Bridgette Brady said spectators can attend home games with a variety of parking options.

Visitors coming to Pullman for games have three options for parking: the Cougar Athletic Fund donor parking, paid general parking or the free Park and Ride shuttle lots.

Cougar Athletic Fund donor parking is reserved specifically for members who donate to WSU athletics. Members are able to park in areas like across the street from Martin Stadium and the parking lots under the CUE.

Students with parking passes can expect to stay parked in their designated areas, and will not have to worry about visitors taking spots in their lots.

“On game day, all parking lots have attendants restricting the use of the lots to their designated use,” Brady said.

If visitors are not a part of the fund or do not have a parking pass, general parking is also an option for game day.

A general parking pass costs $20 and allows visitors to park in one of the designated lots around campus.

A link to an interactive map for game day parking can be found on the Home Football Gameday Parking webpage. This map gives directions on how to get to the lots the most efficient way based on which way fans are entering Pullman.

The third option, Park and Ride, is Brady’s preferred method of transportation as it cuts down on campus traffic.

“I recommend using the Park and Ride lots to avoid dealing with on campus traffic on game days,” Brady said. “The shuttles drop fans off right in front of Martin Stadium.”

The Park and Ride shuttles are free to use, and it picks fans up at six different locations across Pullman including the Valley Playfields and the Pullman Living Faith Church.

There will be multiple shuttles and routes running throughout the day starting three hours before kick-off to ensure ample time for fans to make it to the game.

Brady would also like to remind fans that these parking lots are not the only option available to them. Walking is also a great way to make it to the game.

“It is highly encouraged that fans walk to campus if possible,” Brady said. “Traffic is congested and avoiding it all together is the best option.”
