As the 2024-25 school year comes to an end, we honor the senior athletes who have graduated from WSU and are leaving Pullman for bigger and better things. This is the 2024-25 Daily Evergreen senior farewell series.
Logann Golden was born in 2002 in Castle Rock, Washington. She was a multi-sport athlete in high school, playing volleyball and softball. However, volleyball clearly became her strength, as Golden racked up four straight first-team all-league selections. After leading Castle Rock High School’s volleyball squad to two straight state tournaments, Golden came to WSU, where she carved out a role for herself as a serving specialist.
As a freshman, Golden played just four matches. She earned an increased role in her sophomore year, playing in 13 games and 31 total sets.
She broke out as a junior when she became a serving specialist for the Cougars. In 2022, she tallied multiple aces in a match twice, including in a five-set win over Oregon. She finished her junior year with a .907 serving percentage.
In 2023, Golden played a key role in the Cougars’ Sweet 16 run. She played in 32 matches and once again shone against Oregon. In an upset road win, Golden again scored two aces, and was a key part of the Cougs’ victory.
In 2024 as a senior graduate, Golden earned more playing time, becoming one of the leaders of the WSU defense. She played in 106 sets and tallied a career-high 117 digs. She managed 1.1 digs per set.
Never a big factor on the offense, Golden tallied 15 assists but had zero kills on a single attempt in her collegiate career.
“Really sad, really happy, overall just very thankful,” Golden told WSU athletics before her senior night.
She said her favorite memory with the Cougars was their win over Texas at Texas, in front of a massive opposing crowd.
“The girls, they are awesome,” said Golden when asked what she will miss the most. “We have people from all over the place, so it’s been fun to get to know different cultures, heritages … and now we have those friends for life.”
