As the 2024-25 school year comes to an end, we honor the senior athletes who have graduated from WSU and are leaving Pullman for bigger and better things. This is the 2024-25 Daily Evergreen senior athlete farewell series.
Jaden Walz only played one season in Pullman. However, she put together a strong year in 2024.
Jaden Walz’s volleyball career is a testament to development and hard work.
A native of Brooklyn, Ohio, Walz made a name for herself early on at Brooklyn High School, where she was a four-year varsity athlete. Dominating as a do-it-all player, she compiled over 1,600 kills, 1,000 digs, and nearly 500 assists, earning honors such as Ohio Varsity Player of the Year and AVCA All-Region.
“It means a lot,” she said after being named high school player of the year. “It’s good to see my hard work and everything over the past four years pay off.”
Her strong high school performance set the stage for her collegiate career, which spanned five seasons and two schools.
Walz began her NCAA career at Bowling Green State University, where she played from 2019 to 2023. Over five seasons, she emerged as one of the top setters in the Mid-American Conference (MAC). In her final year at BGSU, Walz tallied a career-best 987 assists, averaging over eight per set, and added 245 digs and 11 double-doubles. Her steady presence helped guide the Falcons through several competitive MAC campaigns, and she earned multiple MAC East Setter of the Week honors and a spot on the MAC All-Tournament Team.
Off the court, Walz also excelled academically, earning Academic All-MAC recognition while pursuing a degree in early childhood education.
In January 2024, Walz transferred to Washington State University to compete at the Power-5 level and fill the Cougars’ vacant setter role.
As a Coug, she played in 106 sets and was one of the best defenders on the court for Wazzu. She finished the year with 212 digs, good for an average of 2.0 digs per set. She also tallied 269 assists and 11 kills, making her a weapon on offense and defense.
