As the 2024-25 school year comes to an end, we honor the senior athletes who have graduated from WSU and are leaving Pullman for bigger and better things. This is the 2024-25 Daily Evergreen senior athlete farewell series.
In 2024, Jade Warren, a 5-foot-11 middle blocker from Horseshoe Bend, Idaho, joined the Wazzu volleyball team as a graduate transfer from the College of Idaho.
In high school, Warren was a two-sport star. She won conference player of the year in volleyball and was the runner-up player of the year in basketball.
At the College of Idaho, Warren earned NAIA All-American honors, First Team All-Region, and First Team All-Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) accolades in 2023, recording 124 total blocks and 256 kills.
Transitioning to the NCAA Division I level, Warren contributed to the Cougars’ season as a rotation piece. In a match against the University of San Francisco on November 27, 2024, she added five kills and a block, one of her best games of the season.Â
Warren’s WSU career did not last long, as she struggled to stay on the court. She managed only 16 sets, finishing the year with seven kills, and a kill percentage of .143.
Warren’s journey from a standout at the College of Idaho to a contributor at WSU highlights her adaptability and commitment to excellence. Her presence added depth to the Cougars’ roster, and her experience provided valuable leadership to a team integrating several new players.
