Maxwell Moore, a graduate student from Newport, Oregon, was a thrower for the WSU track and field team. Moore specialized in the discus and shot put.
Moore’s most notable achievement came at the 2025 Mt. SAC Relays, where he launched the discus 56.99 meters (187 feet), marking a significant personal best. Earlier in the season, he recorded marks of 56.40 meters at the Jeff Rahn Classic and 56.10 meters at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate.
In addition to his outdoor successes, Moore has been solid indoors. At the 2025 MPSF Indoor Championships, he managed a personal best in the shot put with a throw of 15.08 meters (49 feet, 5.75 inches).
Beyond his athletic accomplishments, Moore’s dedication to training and leadership was recently recognized at the WSU senior athletes luncheon. He was honored with the Rob Oviatt and David Lang Strength and Conditioning Award, which is given to a student athlete who takes their training seriously.
