Kai Rapolla is a redshirt junior cornerback who arrived at WSU this spring from California Polytechnic State University.
Rapolla was a two-way player at Rancho Christian High School. As a senior, he caught 12 touchdowns and came down with two interceptions on defense.
He attended Cal Poly as a cornerback and redshirted in 2022, appearing in three games. In 2023, he played nine games as a freshman, contributing 14 tackles and four passes defended.
His breakout with Cal Poly came in 2024. Last year, Rapolla finished with two interceptions, 41 tackles, five passes defended, three forced fumbles and three fumbles recovered. His best highlight came against Idaho, when he recovered a fumble and returned it for 81 yards and a touchdown.
