After a quiet rookie year, only one point through 19 games, Carter is leaving the Sceptres for the PNW. She joins Cayla Barnes on the defensive side of the locker room as a young blue line presence.
During her NCAA hockey days at Northeastern University, she made three Frozen Four appearances at one point, winning the Elite 90 Award given to players with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating in a championship. She led all Hockey East defenders in points in 2024 with 25, earning her a selection to the First-Team All-Star team.
Much like Emily Brown, Carter is not always represented on the score sheet. Additionally, she only saw 19 games of action in her rookie year. With a new team looking to make noise in the league, this could be the chance that Carter needs to break out in the PWHL and make a name for herself at the pro level.
Next on the schedule for PWHL fans is the 2025 draft. In the draft, Seattle will look to flesh out their lineup and add young rookies who will be the faces of the franchise for the coming years. The draft will be at 7:00 pm on June 24.
