Pullman Ward 1 Council member Trymaine Gaither will resign effective July 15.
Gaither cited a relocation as the reason for his resignation.
“We are relocating outside the region so our youngest son can access specialized services,” Gaither said. “While we are excited for this next step, leaving Pullman is bittersweet.”
Gaither had been in the position since January 2024; he was appointed to fill the seat left by Mayor Francis Benjamin when he was sworn in.
More information about filling the new vacancy is expected to be shared soon.
Gaither was up for re-election in November. Currently, four people are running to fill his spot: Cindy Kothandaraman, John-Mark Mahnkey, Randy Cross and Bryan MacDonald. They will face off in the primary election on August 5.
