The Cougars are hoping to get back into the win column after two straight losses. The two losses came against Portland and Pepperdine. Both games were 1-0 losses.
For the Cougs this will be their final home game of the season. The eight seniors on the team were honored in their last home game on Nov. 1. This will the last time these seniors are able to play in front the Pullman crowd. This year at home the Cougs are 2-2-3. They have only been able to win two games at home during the West Coast Conference play.Â
All eight of these players have been able to make an impact for the Cougars in some way this year. Goalies Kera Mitchell and Zora Standifer have been able to defend the goal and keep the ball out of the back of the net. Brooke Brown has been a key piece of the defense starting in five games this season. In limited action this year due to an injury, Jenna Studer was able to make contributions to the Cougars defense only allowing four goals to be scored. Also in limited action, Peyton Price was able to contribute to the back line for the Cougs pairing up with teammate and fellow senior Maggie Mace to help keep the ball out of the net. Mace also has a goal on the season which was scored against North Dakota State University on Sept. 18. Â
On the offensive side of the ball Abigail Siddall and Jordyn young have been vital in the Cougs attack. Siddall has been able to find the back of the net two times this season. Young has been able to find the back of the net four times this season leading the team in goals. She also has an assist on the season.
The Dons are currently sat in eighth place and with a win can tie with Cougs. The team has scored 12 goals on the year. Junior Kaitlyn Sasadeusz leads the way for the Dons with five goals. On the defensive side of the ball San Francisco has struggled. Goalie Tyra Bengtsson-Stenseth has allowed 24 goals on the season.Â
The Cougars are currently in sixth place with two games left in the season; both must win games. The Cougars take on the San Francisco Dons at 7 p.m on Wednesday Nov. 5.
