The Healthy Eating on a Budget Class is having its third session in a five-part series, and this Saturday’s theme is fruits and vegetables.

Part of the focus of this family-friendly class is how to save money while still cooking healthy, according to their Facebook page. The class teaches creativity in cooking and how to budget while shopping at the Moscow Food Co-op.

Participants are provided with recipes and samples, and they learn how to use what is available in the bulk section as well. All the recipes are plant-based and most of them are free of the top-eight allergens.

The class is from 4 – 5 p.m. Saturday at the Latah County Fair Office. Pre-registration is highly encouraged to ensure enough samples, although walk-ins are accepted.

Registration is $3 for co-op owners and $5 for non-owners, but reimbursement is given through a co-op gift card during the event. Those interested in registration or wanting to find more information can go to the co-op website or the Facebook event page for the class.
