Police recommend felony charges for USC player

WSU Police Department officially recommended that a USC football player who allegedly attacked a fan storming the field be charged with a felony.

The recommendation for a second-degree assault charge against USC lineman Liam Jimmons, who was caught on video hitting a student as they rushed the field. The victim, a college-aged man, reportedly suffered a concussion that hospitalized him twice, WSU PD Assistant Chief Steve Hansen said.

Jimmons has played in five games this year for the Trojans. When contacted, USC Athletics said they had not been made aware of the recommendation or any report on the recommendation.

The Whitman County Prosecutor’s Office said they had not  yet officially received the recommendation, but when they do, they will review the case.
