FROM SATFF REPORTS

WSU SEB is preparing for one of their biggest film events of the year in time for Dad’s Weekend.

Warren Miller’s 65th ski film titled “No Turning Back” marks the start to the winter season for skiers and snowboarders alike.

Known for extreme stunts and featuring athletes like Tyler Ceccanti, Bode Miller, and Chris Anthony, this year’s film is expected to just as intense.

“Seeing the extreme runs and stunts gets my adrenaline going,” said Hailey Shur, a member of the WSU ski team, “It makes me anxious for the beginning of the season.”

The film will feature locations like Greece, Japan, Alaska, Switzerland, and Colorado.

The Warren Miller team is focusing on the roots of skiing by taking it back to “before skis had edges and mountains had condos,” said an online release for the film.

The film will be shown in CUB Auditorium this weekend three separate times. Once on Friday at 8 PM, and another on Sunday at 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

“We have the capacity to fill CUB Auditorium three times,” said Taylor Travino, student entertainment board’s film programmer, “Every seat is expected to be full.”

The Outdoor Rec Center will be giving away freebies at each showing of the film as well.

Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $5 for students and $10 for non-students. The purchase of a ticket automatically enters moviegoers into a raffle.

“There’s lift tickets to a mountain of choice, free ski or snowboard rentals for a weekend, one free shuttle to Schweitzer, and a few snowshoe or cross country ski rentals,” said Travino.

The doors of CUB Auditorium will open 30 minutes before the show time each day.
