Second chance to be in the (Coug) spotlight

From Staff reports

Round two of SEB’s Coug Spotlight will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the CUB Lair with all performers hoping for the chance to play at this year’s Springfest.

Solo artist junior math major Chloe Hendrickson claimed first place in round one with runner up freshman business major Max P. and both will compete against the winners of this week’s competition during round three in November.

Hendrickson won both the first and third rounds of competition last year and performed at Springfest with her band, “The Names and Faces.”

Max P. said he hadn’t even planned on performing in round one but decided to take a chance and ended up advancing to the next round.

“Music is my sanctuary, and I would love to play at Springfest,” Max P. said.

Those wishing to perform can contact SEB Spotlight coordinator Liz Dance at [email protected]. There will also be an open mic portion of the event after all registered performers have finished. Anyone is welcome to show off talent whether it be beat boxing, singing, or playing an instrument.

The event is expected to last until 5:30 p.m. at which point there will be an open text poll for audience members to vote for their favorite performance.

Popcorn and candy will be offered to attending audience members.
