Pullman Grove fire arsonist sentenced

BY STAFF REPORTS

Bryan Lee Kitchen, the Pullman arsonist responsible for setting the Grove apartment complex on fire in July 2013, was sentenced to just over four years in prison Tuesday in Spokane District Court, according to the Spokesman Review.

Kitchen will pay $4.7 million restitution for the arson. In January, Kitchen pleaded guilty to one count of maliciously using fire to damage a building used in interstate commerce.

Kitchen became a suspect for the investigation after Pullman Police found his vehicle near the arson site and an officer ran his license plate.

The Grove fire destroyed four structures under construction and melted the siding of nearby apartments, causing millions of dollars in damage.
