The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Spokane woman for multiple charges relating to the possession and unlicensed distribution of marijuana.

Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers said an officer arrested the 19-year-old woman Saturday night on U.S. Highway 195 in the northern part of Whitman County. The deputy originally made contact during a traffic stop for a headlight violation. During the stop, the deputy smelled burnt marijuana and asked permission to do a search of the vehicle, to which the woman agreed.

The deputy found more than 1.5 pounds of marijuana, as well as marijuana oils, well over the legal limit of 1 ounce, Myers said. The woman admitted the marijuana was hers and that she sells it to friends and had also sold it illegally at the MadeInTYO concert on campus earlier that night.

The deputy arrested the woman and charged her with possession of marijuana over the legal limit, possession with intent to deliver, driving while license suspended and possession of drug paraphernalia, Myers said. A male minor was also taken into custody for charges related to the illegal sale of marijuana.
