McDonald’s, home of the Big Mac and 10-piece chicken nuggets, was voted the best hangover recovery food in Pullman.

When it comes to the top contenders for the best fast-food place in Pullman, WSU alum Oliyad Beyenne said McDonald’s is always number one.

Store manager Jill Freuden said students usually come to McDonald’s in the afternoon and after 7 p.m.

When students want hangover food over the weekend, however, she said McDonald’s is usually teeming around 10-11 a.m. McDonald’s worker Megan Pyle said her go-to hangover food is on the breakfast menu.

“I’ll get a Sausage and Egg McMuffin [and] add bacon,” Pyle said.

“That’s a lot of protein,” Freuden replied.

Freuden said McDonald’s often gets hit with waves of sororities and fraternities late at night.

“It’s like a magnet that draws them here,” Freuden said.

She added that the most popular items are the Sausage Burrito and Egg McMuffin.

Freuden said McDonald’s beats other fast food establishments around town as the best source of hangover recovery food.

“Back when I would get a hangover,” she said, “McDonald’s is definitely the best choice.”
