History prof talks trash

From staff reports

In keeping with the theme of the Common Reading book, a WSU history professor will explain how trash serves as a window into the past.

Ken Faunce will deliver the first of this year’s Common Reading lectures Tuesday in room 203 of the CUE.

The presentation, titled “One Person’s Trash is Another’s Treasure: Historical Archaeology and the Study of Garbage,” will begin at 7 p.m. It is free and open to all students.

Common Reading lectures feature WSU faculty and other experts who present on the topic of a given book. The selection this year is “Garbology: Our Dirty Love Affair With Trash” by Edward Humes, who will visit campus on Oct. 7.
