Hawks add Shelton to summer roster

From staff reports

While D.J. Shelton went unselected in last week’s NBA draft, the former Cougar forward will play for the Atlanta Hawks during the NBA Summer League. The Las Vegas Summer League will take place from July 11 to July 21.

The 6-foot-10, 250-pound rookie appeared in 35 of WSU’s 37 games last season. He scored eight points in back-to-back games at Portland and against Oklahoma. He also reached career highs with 14 points and nine rebounds in 24 minutes against Oregon State in one of two games in February.

In the Pac-12 Tournament, Shelton played a career-high 26 minutes and scored seven points against Oregon State. Shelton also made the second-most dunks on the team with 13.
