Swedish standout signs to women’s soccer team

Attacking midfielder Sofia Anker-Kofoed has signed a national letter of intent to play this fall with the WSU women’s soccer team.

Anker-Kofoed has played on Sweden’s U-17 and U-19 national teams. The U-19 team won the 2012 UEFA Women’s U-19 Championship. She was also named as an alternate for the 2012 UEFA championship squad.

Anker-Kofoed is currently playing for FC Rosengard in the Damallsvenskan League, a club that has captured eight championships in 22 seasons playing in the highest division of women’s soccer in Sweden. The club’s most recent title came in 2013 and advanced it to the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Anker-Kofoed has recorded two goals on seven shots while making three starts for FC Rosengard.
