Ferdinand’s flavor leads bracket in national ice cream competition

From staff reports

Ferdinand’s flavor Apple Cup Crisp has led BYU so far in the western-region bracket of Progressive Dairyman magazine’s 2014 Flavor Faceoff, a national competition for the best flavor of university-made ice cream.

An editor of the magazine said there’s a good chance the flavor will become a national finalist, at which point it would compete with flavors from three other regions for the national title.

Voting will end at midnight, and votes can be placed via the magazine’s website, here: bit.ly/1pnB7Oe. Finalists will be announced on Monday.

Apple Cup Crisp is Ferdinand’s vanilla ice cream laced with green and spiced apple flavorings, a swirl of caramel and chunks of oatmeal cookies. It is sold year-round.
