Marbut extension still not confirmed

From staff reports

It’s been more than a week since WSU Athletic Director Bill Moos announced on KQQQ’s “The Morning News” that Cougar baseball coach Donnie Marbut will receive an extension on his WSU contract, but that is yet to be confirmed.

Following the announcement, team spokesman Craig Lawson told Jeff Nusser of SB Nation that an official decision should be made this week.

Marbut signed a three-year contract in 2010 for $170,000 per year. The contract included a roll-over option whereby mutual agreement at the end of each season extends the contract an additional year.

Marbut currently has two years left on his contract, so this extension would likely be for one year. He is in his tenth season at WSU.
