Pictures stolen from two Greek houses

From staff reports

PULLMAN—Composite pictures of fraternity and sorority members are missing from two chapter houses after burglaries that occurred this weekend on College Hill.

Several suspects were recorded by surveillance video cameras in the Delta Gamma sorority house at 715 NE Linden St., which was burglarized early Saturday morning.

Pullman Police Cmdr. Chris Tennant said the two composites missing from the house were valued at about $2,000 each.

The other house is the Sigma Chi fraternity at 810 NE California St., which Tennant said was burglarized between 8 p.m. Saturday and 12 a.m. Sunday.

Missing from Sigma Chi is one composite picture valued at about $1,000.

Tennant said the pictures were probably stolen as part of a prank in which the pictures will be held for ransom. He said the instances will continue being investigated as residential burglaries.

The houses showed no signs of damage as the burglars most likely entered through unlocked doors, he said.
