WSU cornerback arrested again

From staff reports

WSU cornerback Daquawn Brown was arrested for the second time in a 30-day period after he allegedly assaulted a man and woman during an argument at a charity dancing event March 1 in the CUB.

Police and paramedics responded on the night of the WSU Dance-A-Thon to the report of an injured person. The woman suffered concussion-like symptoms, while the man reportedly sustained minor injuries as a result of being punched in the face.

After several days of investigation, WSU Police identified Brown as a suspect.

Officers interviewed Brown on Friday before they arrested him for second-degree assault, a felony, and fourth-degree assault, a misdemeanor. He was booked into the Whitman County Jail.

This incident marks the fourth arrest of a WSU football player in recent weeks.

Brown was arrested Feb. 2 for driving without a valid license. Defensive tackle Austin Brown (no relation) was arrested Friday night for stealing a cart of merchandise from the Walmart on Bishop Boulevard, and receiver Gabe Marks was arrested Feb. 8 on charges that included fourth-degree assault.
