Woman arrested for assault on her mother

From staff reports

A 29-year-old Pullman woman was arrested Thursday afternoon after she allegedly bit and strangled her 51-year-old mother on Northwood Drive.

Kristen C. Beck was charged with second-degree assault, unlawful imprisonment and interference with reporting domestic violence. Police were alerted to her mother’s residence by a 911 hang-up call.

Pullman Police Sgt. Dan Dornes said the incident resulted from an argument over the care of Beck’s daughter, who was then 13 days old. Beck was highly intoxicated at the time.

Beck was booked shortly after the incident into the Whitman County Jail, where she is still being held.
