Giving love a bad name

Love sucks; as does the lack of it. I, along with many of you, am just another member of the Lonely Hearts Club.

Yesterday I provided you with some touching love songs to put you in the mood, but sometimes that just doesn’t cut it. Let’s face it, sometimes we just want to rage. This is for those of you who have recently ended a relationship with someone, have never started one, or who never want to.

Today we are saying eff love and eff Valentine’s Day with my anti-Valentine’s Day playlist.

It’s time to delete their number out of your phone, quit stalking them on Facebook, and stop sending their new “thing” murderous telepathic messages.

Get over it, flip them the bird and tune in.

Starting off this anti-Valentine’s Day playlist is Miley Cyrus (yes, really) with “FU.” You are not fooling anyone when you say you don’t like her new album “Bangerz.”

This song is so sassy, full of angst and literally has the two best paired letters in the alphabet for this week.

Once the tone has been set, there are obviously a few ‘forever alone’ tears that need to be shed. That’ll be done through Daughter’s “Love,” Wet’s “No Lie” and “Say Something” by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera.

But don’t fret, there’s plenty of angst to be had. Which is why “How F***ing Romantic” by The Magnetic Fields, “I Like You so Much Better When You’re Naked” by Ida Maria, “Song for the Dumped” by Ben Folds Five and Lily Allen’s “Smile” are included.

To prove a point and show that the hatred of love has gone on throughout the centuries, there are a few throwbacks sprinkled in here as well.

To cap it off, John Mellencamp sings: “I need a lover that won’t drive me crazy/Some girl who knows the meaning of a ‘Hey hit the highway’” in “I Need a Lover.”

Isn’t that what we all want, to tell someone to just GTFO?

While many love crazed couples will be out celebrating this so called ‘love’ that they have going on (for now at least), go ahead and let it all out to this playlist.
