Letter to the editor: Memories of professor Stratton

Letter to the editor

Editor:

I was shocked and dismayed at the news of professor Stratton’s death.

Just a few weeks ago, we had email correspondence concerning letters of recommendation. It seems unreal.

He taught my history seminar my senior year at WSU, and I remember him being so kind, gentle, helpful, and engaging.

In fact, the night before graduation he came down to Rico’s. I was there with my best friend, and professor Stratton sat down, bought us some beers, and talked to us for hours about JFK, FDR, and many other historical figures.

May God rest his soul and bring peace to his family in this dark hour. He will surely be missed.
