WSU wide receiver arrested for assault

From staff reports

Police arrested WSU sophomore wide receiver Gabriel Marks early Saturday morning after he was accused of punching the assistant manager of a bar on Adams Mall.

Marks was reported to have been highly intoxicated and acting belligerently at 600 Northeast Colorado St., where he was engaged in a dispute with another patron.

Stubblefields owner DJ Goldfinger said he and his staff asked Marks to leave the premises prior to the assault, after which they detained him until police arrived.

Marks was cited with four misdemeanors: fourth-degree assault, second-degree criminal trespassing, being a minor intoxicated in public, and frequenting a tavern as a minor.

“I am sorry to everyone who believed in me,” Marks tweeted yesterday. “My actions are my own and I have to live with it. Can’t change the past. Can only look forward.”

Marks has not been assigned a court date.
