Frontier Communications customers will experience a landline network outage starting at 11 p.m. tonight, which may last until 2 a.m. Wednesday.

The telephone interruption may last from 30 minutes to three hours, according to a press release.

A fiber optical transmission cable along U.S. 95 between Coeur D’Alene and Worley, Idaho, was vandalized and needs to be repaired, according to the press release. Reparations on the cable should be finished by 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Some of the areas affected by this outage include Pullman, Moscow and Rosalia, according to the press release.

Pullman Police Cmdr. Chris Tennant said this may affect local residents’ landline calls to 911.

He said residents can still call 911 from their cell phones if any issues arise.

Residents can call the Pullman Police Department business line at 509-332-2521, Tennant said, which will direct them to the Whitcom dispatch center.
