Instructor’s death determined to be caused by seizure

An autopsy has determined the cause of death for Scott Stratton, the WSU history instructor who died last week.

Officials told KHQ Stratton had a seizure that caused him to fall into the pond at Sunnyside Park where he drowned, according to an article.

Stratton had a history of seizures, according to The Moscow-Pullman Daily.

Whitman County Coroner Pete Martin told KHQ that Stratton, had been off his medication for about ten days at the time of his death because it caused a rash.

A memorial for Stratton will be held at 1:30 p.m. March 8 at the Lewis Alumni Center on campus. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Scott David Stratton Scholarship Fund in the WSU history department.
