Tapped Taphouse and Kitchen, a Moscow community staple, will host its monthly “Tap Takeover” 6 p.m. today at 210 S Main St. in Moscow.

The Tap Takeover is an all-ages event. Adults who buy a beer will support local community non-profits.

This month Palouse Land Trust is on deck for the takeover. The taphouse will donate $1 from every beer sold to the Palouse Land Trust. This trust works as a non-profit organization committed to inspiring people to experience the outdoors in the Palouse, said Lovina Englund, executive director of Palouse Land Trust.

“We have a charge with helping people in our community connect with lands and nature,” Englund said.

They offer wellness events and guided hikes meant to expose locals to nature.

This specific Tap Takeover will also include Double Mountain Brewery and Taproom based out of Oregon. Double Mountain has provided some of the Oregon-based brews.

The kid-friendly environment will be accompanied with a sporadic raffle to anyone who purchases a Double Mountain Brewery drink, Englund said.

“There will be swag and fun giveaways,” Englund said.

Englund said the event will remind patrons that maintaining outdoors leisure areas is still a priority when snow and ice prevent them from enjoying those spaces.

“We definitely slow down with the outdoor events we do this time of year,” Englund said. “We are trying to help people understand there are recreation spaces all around us. Our goal to protect the special places.
